1977 Re-union Reports

Sadly, like all good things, Matric 77 Reunion had to come to an end. But it was AWESOME while it lasted. See you all at the next one.  Cobus vd Merwe

Hi Everyone Must say, we had a fantastic ReUnion, a lot of laughter and catch-up. Lot of surprises tooo!!!!! Thing got out of hand especially Hoofmeisie>>>But she was a great sport.  I think we all realize what we have missed out after all these years.  Wonderful to see that you are all healthy, wealthy and strong.  Thank you once again to Stella and Isabel for all there hard work and trouble to find a lot of us.  Aan al my wonderlike skoolvriende/ To all my wonderful school friends Graag wil ek julle almal van harte bedank vir elkeen se ondersteuning om van die reunie so ‘n sukses te maak. Dankie spesiaal vir elkeen wat die moeite gedoen het om die naweek saam met ons te deel en vir die wat nie kon bywoon nie, dankie dat julle aan ons gedink het hetsy by wyse van ‘n sms, epos, Facebook boodskap of oproep. Alles saam het bygedra tot die wonderlike gees van samesyn wat  heel naweek geheers het.   A special word of thanks must go to Stella who traced us all and without whom we could not have made any attempt to organize a reunion. Well our long looked forward to weekend has come and gone, and it was amazing. It was sooo awesome to be back in Dundee, and we have had 2 wonderful days of endless chatter, catching up 35 years, and endless laughter. Well done Isabel on your fantastic choice of venues, and Stella for finding all our classmates. Looking forward to the next one.   Kim Mackay Gouweloos

Word has it that Isabel was daning on a table on Friday night.  When contacted to verify this information, she said  "Believe me I had not choice.  I had to dance for survival!"

Mike Johnson and John Spencer finally managed to catch up with each other after 20 years.  December 2009.       

 David Brindley-Richards and Roland Schoeman had a “mini” reunion in Australia on 8 September 2012.   

Matric re-union fever began on Sunday 29 July 2012, as some of our classmates in the Pretoria area, decided to have a practice run at Wessel Enslin's place at Hartebeespoortdam.  Those who attended were Cobus vd Merwe, Isabel Holland-Muter  (Swanepoel), Leon and Christa (Swanepoel) Jordaan, Pieter-Jan Grabe, Tewus Wessels and Wessel Enslin, together with their spouses. Word has it that it was a resounding success.
